anyone else being induced?

Just had my last biweekly appt. today and I asked if he was going to switch me from Lovenox to Heparin.  He said no and that what will probably happen is that when it is closer to my due date, I will be induced so I can plan on not giving myself a shot the morning of.  This is the first I have been aware this may happen!  Anyone else in the same boat?

Yes, that is exactly what all my docs have said (Since I have a DVT, I see my OB, a blood specialist and a perinatologist) about inducing. However, they will switch to heparin (yeah 3 shots a day) around 35 weeks and then induce at 39. The only one who was unsure about this plan was the blood specialist, who said that I could just stay on lovenox and not give myself the shot that day. However, he said he would leave it up to the OB since they would be handling the delivery. In the end they will "discuss" and determine the exact course of action. They also said I would go into the hospital 24 hours before induction so that they can monitor my platelet count. I think the reasoning behind this is twofold: they can have control over the birth and if you want an epidural, you have to be off the blood thinners for a certain amount of time.  Good luck to us-huh? You are getting really close!! It isn't exactly the natural, water birth I had envisioned, but then again, none of this pregnancy is what I'd envisioned Tongue Tied
