Chicago with a toddler?

We are taking the train home to Michigan, and unfortunately, that leaves us with about six hours to kill tomorrow in Chicago.  We will be at Union Station...we were thinking Shedd Aquarium, but several people said it would be super crowded, but my other option was the Water Tower Mall, and I'm sure THAT will be super crowded.  Is it a damned if I do, damned if I don't thing?

    There's also a children's museum at Navy Pier. I'm not sure how busy that will be though sorry!

    Is this musuem comparable to our's here in Indy?  I didn't know there was one there.

    There is always the natural history musuem.  I don't think the lines to get in there will be as bad.

    There is always the natural history musuem.  I don't think the lines to get in there will be as bad.

    I haven't been to the Navy Pier museum in a while, but I don't recall it even coming close to what we have in Indy.

    Just realize that it will likely be crowded wherever you go so plan for extra time.  The Museum of Science and Industry is pretty cool and has some exhibits for kids, but I love the Aquarium, so I'd go there, even knowing it's going to be crowded.

    We haven't been yet. https://chicagochildrensmuseum.org/       We figure it's worth a look next time we go to Chicago to see the aquarium and stuff.
