You are supposed to not give egg whites until after a year. I am a bad mommy because when I gave her eggs, I ignored that rule. She LOVES all kinds of eggs. I made her a fried egg this morning as a matter of fact
I think it's sort of 50/50 with some people following the rule to the T. I'm not usually a rule breaker, but none of us have any food allergies on either side. I figured she'd be fine and she was
We followed the rule. Started egg yolks around 6-7 months and Ellie loved them mixed with avocado! We've tried whole eggs a few times now - scrambled, fried - and she's not impressed. Have you tried mini meatballs or ground chx/turkey burgers? Those are some of Ellie's favs.
Here's a cautionary tale: My 5-year-old nephew almost died when my SIL gave him eggs for the first time (12-13 months). While he recently (this year) outgrew the allergy, she had to carry an Epi pen with her everywhere when he was allergic and he had a few close calls when he ate a food that had egg in it.
I'd wait, personally. But that's tinged with family experience.
Teagan's favorite foods are eggs & avacados so we did not follow the egg rule. But we don't have any food allergies in our family. We kinda skipped the whole jar baby food thing and have always offered finger type foods. She eats bite size soft cheese, turkey, chicken, any veggie cut up small, toast, pasta, diced fruit and yogurt. We offer her whatever we are having for supper. So far she is a better eater than any of my older girls.

At M's 9 month appointment I was told to try out hard boiled egg yolks for a week and then, if there was no reaction, we could start giving him whole egg.
Jung - we just had B's 9 month and our Pedi said she could have whole eggs now....not one word about waiting a year or anything about allergies. But you could start him on yolks, just to be on the safe side.
We have been trying all sorts of eggs since Sarah was 9 months old but she doesn't like it. I didn't know about that rule but we also don't have any food allergies in our families.
