I delivered there. There are pros and cons to it. I've delivered at both sisters and suburban. I really couldn't tell you about the actual labor and delivery b/c mine went so fast that i don't even know if i made into an L and D room. I didn't know who was in the room with me but the people that were there were very nice and helpful and tried to calm me down. I liked that you took a shower before moving to your room. I really liked the nursery nurses and feel like they took very good care of my dd. They explained everything to me b/c she had to stay there to get her hemoglobin retested after I had her b/c her number was low and then she had to have an echo before she could be released.
The hospital is defintly older than suburban and the rooms show it. I feel like my room was dirty. Each room had a private shower which was nice. I feel like I was constantly having to call for an ice pack and meds. (at suburban they gave you a supply of the breakable ice packs, at sisters they gave you crushed ice). the nurses were very nice. the most important thing to me was Sophia's care and I feel that she got great care there. the thing I didn't like was that you had to order your food for the next day the night before and the food wasn't that good.
I delivered there too.. I have absolutely no complaints. I got one of the bigger nicer post delivery rooms... I did have a little bit of a not so great nurse.. she was sweet and meant well but she had to have other nurses help out with stuff like my iv.. but I was well taken care of and so was eve.
