Back from our trip to visit the fam

So we went to KC to visit my fam and overall, it was good to visit but SO good to come home. I learned a lot about myself this trip and a lot about other people too. I guess sometimes I expect people to act a certain way or to do what they say they are going to do and they never do, I've come to realize I need to not have expectations of others because it is totally out of my control. I laughed, I cried, I enjoyed but like I said, it's good to be home. It made me appreciate the relationship I have with Ryan and it made me think a lot about how I mother my daughter and soon to be son.

I've also realized that 5 days is long enough to be away from home with a toddler. She did amazing our entire trip there and slept like a champ even though she was in a strange place (it for sure helped to have her blankie and bunny!) She did have a MAJOR meltdown on the plane, I think her ears were really hurting and she refused to drink.

There's so much more I could go into but I'll spare you the details and just say I'M BACK, I'm 27 weeks pregnant and am nesting like a mad woman!

  • Heh, one of the interesting things about family is how they can make you love and appreciate them...and love and appreciate not always being around them, too. Stick out tongue

You ladies who are traveling during the holidays are freaking ROCKSTARS. No joke. We're very very very tentatively considering going to the USA next Christmas when the boys are over 1.5 years old and I'm already going, "OMG I don't know how the hell we'll travel with them!"

  • Glad it was an overall good visit and that B did so well on the trip (aside from the plane, but flights always hurt little ears Sad). Welcome back home =)

  • I totally get what you mean about family.  Living so far away from mine, I appreciate them so much more... BUT, when we are home, there are always those small, annoying things that creep up and remind me why I enjoy living so far away from home, too! :)  lol

I keep telling my mom and sister that we're all so close because we don't live together.  Seriously, we'd drive each other bananas if we lived under the same roof!  haha

Glad your trip went well. :)

Hoping K does ok with the long flights coming up for us (we've decided to head back to Hawaii in Jan - didn't want to wait till May when he'll be more mobile!)

  • glad the trip was good overall. it is definitely hard to travel w/a toddler! time changes are hard, too.  luckily miss A is a pretty good traveler and it sounds like Bella is pretty good too
