Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

for all the moms of toddlers who won't eat

My pedi has this posted on his website & I read it everytime I get all worked up about Emmie eating!  She used to eat sooo much more than other babies..now she won't eat anything!!!

Thought I'd share.

Many parents have concerns about what, how much and how to get their child, to eat. Parents are responsible for selecting and buying food, making well-balanced meals, setting the timing of meals and snacks, presenting food in a form that the child can handle and setting standards of behavior at the table. The parent is not responsible for how much a child eats, whether he eats, or how his body turns out

  • Good to hear a refreshing view point from your Pedi. DS is a very picky eater and it affects me a lot in the sense that I am afraid to send new foods to day care worrying he may refuse and stay hungry. I need to start being more confident in my child raising abilities I suppose.

  • Thanks for this.   His eating is a daily stress for us.  It's tears and gagging at every meal and then back to purees because that's all he'll eat.
  • Very well said. I think I like your pedi. What part of N TX are you in?

  • Yay! My pedi told me that as long as she is growing healthy then she is getting what she needs- even if it feels like she isn't!

  • I swear between me on weight watchers, worrying about DD's weight, my dog's thyroid pills/diet I feel like everything involving food is a huge stress for me. My DD is very thin only 10th percentile and I feel like every meal is a battle.
