Ok...so the girls are 7 months and not really sitting up. B is better than A.
They will sit there for a second, but they are so into eating their feet, that the minute they see them right in front of them, they're lunging for them and thus the sitting position is over.
Is this normal? I swear..there's always something that gets me concerned.....
What age were your babies sitting and more or less stay like that? To the point where you could say that they sit.
Re: Sitting ?
Joaquin was sitting at 6 months. Kaelyn still doesn't sit unassisted. She prefers to roll all over the place so she lunges forward to roll. She just doesn't seem interested in sitting yet. I have seen her sit very well, but if she sees something she wants she is off to roll and get it.
I thing your babies are perfectly normal. I'm sure they will be sitting soon.
My girls were not sitting unassisted until they were a little over 8 months old, like 8 months and 1 week. So about 7 1/2 months adjusted age. This is one of the reasons my pedi. had us adjust their age for the first year because their were some things they were going to do more on their adjusted age range than their real age.
Your girls are not behind, just give them a few more weeks and they will be sitting all on their own. My girls started crawling at about 9 to 10 months and took their first steps about 3 days apart during their 13th month. Very average considering the range of normal for the progression to walking. I think your girls are right on track.
My twins started sitting up around 8 mths, they were born at 35 weeks. I don't adjust, but my Pedi say to keep it in mind when they seem a little behind their same age "friends", who are doing things eons ahead of them.
I don't mind a bit for them to take their sweet time, I don't want my little babies growing up too fast!
My boys were not sitting at 9 months and during their well visit their pedi recommend that we contact EI. It actually was the best thing that ever happened to them. They worked with a PT and OT for the past year. They helped them learn to sit, crawl, and now walk.
You are well within the guidelines but it is worth a mention at your next well visit.
Mine are 5.5 months and just starting to be able to do it. DS2 is much better since he's heavier and more content to sit in one place. Assuming I can distract him enough so he won't want to stand, he can go for 10-15 seconds.
DS1 isn't anywhere close. In addition to being pretty small, he's just always buzzing around. He wants to roll, scoot, and reach constantly. Who knows if he'll ever sit.
Mine were sitting at 5.5 months, I think?
My brothers are twins and one wasn't sitting yet at 8 months and the pedi wasn't concerned. He sat at like 9 months.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
Oh, so twins run in your family?
Seriously though...I know your girls were sitting around 6 months b/c I remember the pictures! Since you're a couple of months ahead of me I remembered thinking "Oh the girls should be able to sit by Christmas time." All of a sudden, Christmas was upon us and I realized we weren't there!
Glad to hear that others had babies sitting later on like 8 or 9 months. God knows, I am not anxious for them to start crawling!
