My RE found one yesterday. It is on the opposite side of the umbilical cord, which he said was good. He doesn't seem that concerned with it actually. I bled a little yesterday, and I have a tiny, tiny bit of old brown blood today when I wipe only.?
He said to lay low and take it easy and I stayed home today and tomorrow. I am actually off next week.
He said I may pass it.
I have a lot of back pain, a little bit of cramping, and I feel pressure. I emailed him to tell him this and if I don't hear back from him (he is on vacation) I am going to call the office tomorrow.
So what was your subchorionic hematoma story?? Still have it? What did your dr have you do about it?
Thanks, girls!!?

I had/have one, and no one has mentioned it since 16 weeks. My OB wasn't concerned about it at all, and my MFM said it may or may not resolve itself. I had majorly heavy red bleeding at 11w and 13w, and other than brown spotting in the weeks after those episodes, none since. At my 16w appointment the MFM pointed it out as the reason for my past bleeds and said it may or may not resolve itself. Since I had no more bleeding and have had tons of u/s without anyone mentioning it again, I'm just assuming it's not a cause for concern anymore. I was never put on bedrest or anything.
Don't stress too much -- easier said than done -- any bleeding or spotting always worried me!! Hope it goes away soon.
I had mine from about 6 weeks until 17 weeks. It actually was still there past 17 weeks but I stopped bleeding around then. It was very scary and at times I was gushing blood. Since Blood is an enemy to your uterus, I was always crampy. I was crampy all the time and thought AF was going to come throughout my entire pg. My blood ranged from gushing red, to orangish to brown to black.
It never effected my pregnancy. I was just scared all the time. They made sure I was on plenty of progesterone. One day, the bleeding just stopped.

I didn't know ahead of time that I had one and I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and was covered in blood. DH took me to the ER and that is where I was diagnosed with a SCH. The ER doctor found both heartbeats and said that was all they could do since the bleeding had slowed to a trickle and they didn't think I would need a blood transfusion was send me home. I went to see my high risk Ob the next day and she also found both babies but noticed Baby B who was closer to where all the blood was gathering was smaller than Baby A and his/her heart rate was lower than they expect at 9+ weeks. So we were not sure if the SCH had disrupted the placenta.
So I had a week of bed rest and spotted/bled the entire week. I just went in Monday and had another u/s and the area of clots/blood was smaller than the previous week and Baby B had grown and was still hanging in there.
I am off bed rest but still on pelvic rest and not supposed to lift anything heavy or do any exercising. They told me that some more spotting, passing of small clots was normal but if I bled more than a pads worth in an hour to head back to the ER immediately. Luckily, today is my third day with no blood in sight.
SCH can be terrifying and I hope yours resolves itself without any major incidents.

SAIF/PAIF Welcome
Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
I hat one diagnosed at 6 weeks from a small bleed I had. After the bleed I bled brown for about two weeks. At 8 weeks it went to red blood again. Not much, just a wipeful. Then I bled brown for about 2 weeks. At my 10 week appointment it was gone. They double-checked at 12 weeks and it was still gone.
My RE had me on 2 days bedrest for every red bleed. Also, no sex and no lifting over 10 pounds. My suggestion is not to Google, too much bad info out there.
I hope yours clears very soon!
My diagnosis came after I had a huge gushing bleed. I honestly thought I was miscarrying. The ER doc told me I had a threatened miscarriage...did not mention SCH. I went to my RE the next day and he told us it from a SCH. They never even saw it on any of my previous ultrasounds and it was not obvious at point either. I had more spotting about a week later and have not had a thing since.
Hopefully yours will resolve itself soon!
I had one and bled on and off from 5-8 weeks and again at 10 weeks. I was terrified that I was having a mc. They measured it at 7 weeks and again at 12 weeks and at 12 weeks, it was almost not worth measuring. They think the bleeding at 10 weeks was the clot liquefying and dissipating. It's scary to bleed but once you have a reason for the bleeding, it makes it easier to get through.
More often than not, these aren't a big deal so try to take it easy and not worry too much.

I had a pretty extreme situation with a subchorionic hematoma. It was first diagnosed at 6 weeks and it was huge, much bigger than the baby. It persisted for several weeks and caused half a dozen scary, scary bleeding episodes (full out hemmorrhaging). I actually developed a second hematoma around 15 weeks. They gradually got smaller and by 21 weeks both hematomas were gone and the bleeding had stopped. Unfortunately I went into preterm labor at 25 weeks and the pathology results on the placenta showed that the hematomas had irritated the placenta so much that it stopped developing and that made me go into labor (thankfully otherwise my son might not be alive today).
I haven't heard of anyone else having this happen. Most of the SCH stories seem to be pretty positive with happy outcomes. I hope yours goes away quickly and doesn't cause you any big problems!
