Christmas Eve/Day traditions

I always love to hear what everyone does for the holidays, what food they always have etc.  We are big food & wine folks...and yes I will be having 4-6 oz of my favorite Cabernet Christmas Day!  Other than that I make sauce & meatballs for about 20 Christmas Eve.  I can't wait to see my kids this year...they are beyond excited!

Re: Christmas Eve/Day traditions

  • I can't wait till my kid(s) are old enough to enjoy the holidays. The lights, the baking, the music, the holiday movies... love it all!

Food and wine are a nice bonus, too, for sure!

  • Christmas eve my side of the family all does presents and has Chinese takeout for dinner then watch "Christmas Vacation".  Christmas day is more traditional with a big dinner and presents.  This year mine and DH's family are all going to MIL's for dinner.  This should be interesting.

  • Christmas Eve is always a big party in my family with lots of family and kids. Not a formal dinner, but traditional New Mexican food and a visit from Santa, probably 40-60 people throughout the night at my mom's.

On Christmas day we see a movie. DH works a messed up schedule and either works 5am-5pm or 5pm-5am so we always have breakfast when he gets home, either first thing in the morning or for dinner and we open presents after breakfast. It is as normal as we can be with his schedule.
