Anyone thinking about chopping their hair off?

I was nursing A this morning. She tends to be a bit grabby and apparently my hair got in the way, she literally yanked my head forward and I thought she'd pulled out some hair. So for now I've just incorporated ponytails into my ensemble but am considering just taking it short. Anyone else?

  • I chopped mine last week after Tyler grabbed while nursing. He pulled it pretty hard! lol. now it's in a bob just above my shoulders. My SIL did it. (She's a hair stylist) and I don't like it. lol.

  • I never wear my hair down anymore.  Ever.  I wear a ponytail/bun every.single.day.  But I'm afraid to cut it super short, and just cutting it shorter would defeat the purpose--B would still grab it and I wouldn't be able to pull it back.
  •  I did 3 weeks before I delivered (mostly because it was september and 110 degrees out here) to keep me cool and ponytails give me headaches...

Now I continue to keep it short for the same reasons you mentioned. I really like it and its a nice change until I feel like myself again.

  • LO does pull on my hair, but that's not really why I'm going to cut my hair. I'm going to take off several inches (my hair is currently half way down my back) because my hair is naturally curly. The longer it gets, the worse my curls look and the harder it is to manage--baby or no baby!

  • I whacked all of mine off at 3 weeks PP. It was quite liberating.

  • No, I refuse to get my hair cut.  I just pull it back.  My one friend made a comment to me when I first had DS#1 that stuck in my head and I know I shouldn't let that effect my choices...but she said  "Oh, now that your a mom, I suppose you're gonna get a mom cut too just like so and so did."  I am NOT saying at all that I think short hair represents "mom" cuts, but I just kept my hair long after that.  Plus, my hair is too thick to wear short and I hate having it thinned b/c then it grows back all funky.

So funny you say this because as soon as I cut mine I came home and DH was all "You look like a mommy now.... do you need some mom jeans to go with that bob?" lol

I guess I cancel one mom thing out with the other b/c the other day I was wearing some old skool jeans and my DH was like "Oh, you finally broke down and got some mom jeans?"  LOL

  • At the rate mine is falling out, I won't need to cut it!
  • I just got my hair trimmed today.. I had shorter hair when I got pregnant, but I miss having long hair.. I would suggest thinking it through before you make an emotional decision to cut it. It's not like you can get your hair back instantly.. and it seems like an eternity if you hate it.

  • I will never cut all of my hair off again. I always regret it, and I hate waiting for it to grow back. My long hair is actually easier than any shorter style I've ever had. I'm not brave enough to try a pixie cut or anything. Plus the last thing I need right now is to feel worse about my appearance, and short hair just doesn't look good on me.

  • I could never go short because I have a roundish shape to my face -- accentuated by the baby weight I'm still needing to lose. The pony tail is my friend! I got my side bangs cleaned up last week though and that made me feel better.

  • I would looove to.. but Im too much of a wuss.  It's about 4 inches from the top of my butt. So I'll probably cut about 4-5inches off soon.

This. I promised myself that I wouldn't chop my hair off when I became a Mom. No one made any comments about it, but I just always see women chop their hair off almost as a right of passage.

When LO turned 2 months, I went to my stylist and said "Please make my highlights obnoxiously thick and give me uneven, razored bangs".   He refused to do this to my bangs, but I'm glad with the way the color turned out!

  • I chopped 10 inches off two weeks ago and its great! On my way to go and get my hair trimmed I put my hair in a bun (again) because I had run out of time (again). Its just below my chin now, and now I actually have time to style my hair. I loved how my hair looked when it was long and styled but I just didn't have the time or the energy to do it. This is more manageable.
  • I personally think that shorter hair is harder to manage. I have straight hair.  If my hair is long enough at least I can put it in a ponytail.  If it isn't then I HAVE to do something with it everyday.  I purposefully grew my hair out while pregnant because I knew I would have no time to try to curl it if it was short.  However, I have no idea what to do with it when it is long.  I suck at styling my longer hair.

  • I won't be cutting mine (it's about halfway down my back) any time soon.  I've gone short before (I'm talking Hilary-Swank-in-Boys-Don't-Cry-short) and it was not a good look on me.

MINE TOO!  I had great pregnancy hair and then once i had DS it started falling out.  I have to wear it up bc DS pulls on it so I am tempted to chop it.  Its taken forever to grow it out to my shoulders so I really don't want to

  • It's tempting but im going to grow it out for a while longer, but im sure i'll chop it off sooner then later
