So Eve has been telling me WHEN she is peeing/pooping the last couple days.. not after.. But of course its already too late by the time we run all the way upstairs to the bathroom..She knows how to pee and poop on the potty, but usually she just goes in her diaper.. especially when she is home with me.. With MIL she tells her when she has to go, apparently..
So... I think my plan is.. Santa is going to bring Eve a potty chair and some underpants.. We're going to keep the potty chair downstairs.. (hopefully in my kitchen closet so It doesn't have to be in sight all the time.. technically the closet has pipes run for a toilet, because an old lady who used to live here needed a downstairs toilet, so I guess it could be considered a bathroom.
) And when I get brave.. I'm going to try to switch her to undies when we are home.. This scares me.. but I think she is really starting to be ready..
So I went to the fisher price store and bought the ducky potty.. It can be used as a step stool too..so I thought that might be useful to have downstairs for handwashing and stuff too. Now i'll just have to worry about taking it upstairs and dumping it and rinsing it when she actually DOES use it. EWW.

Re: I caved and bought a potty chair..
It does sound like she's ready. Justin will tell me after the fact, but that's it. He loves to sit on the toilet but won't do anything. He has been taking me by the hand and asking me "mama, pee pee please. Justin flush", which cracks me up.
The thought of a potty chair makes me gag but I gotta admit if I had stairs in our house I might consider it- that's a long haul with a toddler.
Good Luck. The first few days in underwear will probably be a little stressful especially if you go anywhere. I made the decision that once I put him in underwear we weren't going back to diapers and we never did. It really only took about 3 days where he was having accidents. The pee was easier for him than the poop. I think he only wet himself maybe 3 times during those first few days.
When I first put Reed in underwear we had to use the bathroom everywhere we went. I was pretty proactive with it when we were out and about because I was worried he would have an accident. I still take him to the bathroom right before we go anywhere.
FYI if you are ever at the Galleria, there is a really nice bathroom in the back of Pottery Barn Kids. I never knew it was there and the general bathrooms in the mall are gross so it was nice to find. I will never use another bathroom at the mall again unless it is a real emergency!
If you ask G about Santa she enthusiastically tells everyone he's bringing her undies!
We are probably comitting to the 3 day pt method after Christmas. We are in a split with a bathroom on the first (foyer) and third (bedrooms) so I'm a little unsure how this potty stuff is going to go too. This is the book that we've been reading as prep. Good luck!
