What did you do with your pump?

I guess I'm officially done pumping because this morning I pumped MAYBE a half ounce of milk. For the last few weeks, my pump has been randomly shutting off while I'm in the middle of pumping, so I figured the motor is just on it's way out. I don't know what to do with it now. If I store it, is there anything special I need to do besides clean the parts like normal?

Re: What did you do with your pump?

  • Is it a Medela?  You should call them; they might replace the whole thing.  They did when my motor went out!

  • I sold 1 and kept 2. I had a lot. I EP'd for a year so I kept one everywhere. I just washed the parts as normal and put everything in the bag. If it has batteries, just make sure to take them out. Not sure if anything else you need to do.

And YAY for not having to pump any more. Freeeeedom!

Yes it's a Medela; I've already had it replaced once because it was shutting off just a month after buying it.

  • I've stored mine, and ordered new tubing for the next LO.

  • I steam cleaned the parts with one of those microwave bags after a thorough dishsoap cleaning put it all away and left it on the shelf in DDs closet till this baby comes.
