I'm curious if anyone feeds this to their infant and what your expeience has been. I'm seriously considering switching my LO to this but was unsure if there's a minimum age. I plan on making a call to the Pedi tomorrow but was curious to hear others' experinces beforehand.
Re: Meyenberg Goat Milk formula
It's my understanding that this doesn't provide a well balanced diet. If you use it you have to supplement with a multi-vitamin, folic acid, and iron. In my opinion it is better to use a nutritional formula rather than a non-nutritional drink with added supplements. kwim? I think the recommendation is to give it >6 months if you give it at all. I LOVE goat products. I'm actually looking into importing some goat milk formula but I don't know if it is going to be cost effective.
All that said, I DO give Ds some goat milk. I give it when Ds really has a lot of trouble tolerating anything else. Goat's Milk is much easier for my Ds to digest. He has GERD and if he has trouble with formula or BM he can still take goat's milk okay. It's weird. I know I really shouldn't but it's what works. Sometimes it gets to the point where he just needs calories anyway he can get them. He is already on a multi-vitamin with iron so I just do what works.
