My MIL is really into the Secret. I honestly don't know if it was "worked" for her. I see her board that she made with pictures of what she wants in life and to be honest, short of hitting the lottery (which she doesn't play) there is no way she's going to obtain those thing. Since beginning following ideas from The Secret, she has gotten her 4th divorce and has become much more negative/cynical. I'm not implying that it's because of the Secret that she's become this way, I guess I'm saying I don't think she's following the practice appropriately. She had us watch the DVD that explained the concepts and DH and I just couldn't get into the idea.

I wouldn't say I was using it for things like winning the lottery... but I think the positive thinking or appreciating/focusing on the good things in life are important.
Mainly for me I was focused on DH getting a job and us being able to manage me staying home longer... so far so good!
Re: does anyone believe in the secret/ law of attraction?
I think that putting out there what you expect to get back in life is good practice and a nice way to live.
As far as "if I visualize this money it will come to me"? I think it's a crock.
