I am 28+ weeks and am still doing the eliptical 2-3 times a week, not letting my heartrate go above 150. Recently, a few people have told me that people who work out during pregnancy end up going early/premature. I do not want to deliver early. Ive just getting a little nervous about this. Anyone know if there is a link between working out in pregnancy and pre-mature labor?
Thanks!
Re: Moms who worked out during pregnancy
I've never heard that.
I did high impact step aerobics until 35 weeks and then water aerobics until 39 weeks.
Thank you! This makes me feel better
That's a load of BS. I worked out during pregnancy (swimming, biking, running and weights) and had to be induced at a week late. I delivered a very healthy 8lb8oz. baby.
It's also BS that your heartrate needs to stay under 150 or 140. When I worked out I also didn't pay close attention to my heartrate. I just didn't let myself get too winded or overheated. That's what my MW said, just don't get overheated or to the point where you're sucking air and everything will be fine.
