BG Brights-Wash 6 times before using dark colors?

I just got a moonbeam and ribbit BG 4.0. On the tag it says to wash the dark colors 6 times before washing with other things. I have never done this with other pocket diapers, including red Fuzzi Bunz. Is this necessary? I have only 2 diapers that are new and dark.

    I've never done it.  The colours do bleed some, but I've never had any issue with them discolouring other diapers in the wash.

    the only discoloration I've had from ribbit and or moonbeam was on an XS bg - the laundry tab turned a little blue on the moonbeam dipes, but the clementine that was washed with it was unaffected.
