pinking shears are sticking

What can I do so they're not so difficult to use? They're starting to get "sticky."

EDIT: They cut ok, it's when I try to open them back up that they are sticking.

Try placing a little drop or two of oil where the two pieces are held together (there should be a screw or rivet.) You can use the little oil in your sewing machine kit. Or clipper oil if your husband has a hair clipper or beard trimmer.

Ok...we just tried the oil (thanks for the suggestion!), but it didn't work. Brian wonders if maybe they're dull? I've only had them for maybe 6mos and just started using them frequently.

They could be gunked up with fibers. Can you take them apart?
