my grandfather called me a little while ago. my Granny (great-grandmother) passed away around 1pm this afternoon.

I know she's happier now. She was a very strong woman and it would have killed her to be seen as weak even in her final days.

I've had Delta Dawn running through my head since I found out- it was her favorite song and she always asked me to sing it for her when I lived with them. RIP Granny, may you sleep in heaven tonight.

Huge hugs. My grandma passed away last month. Like you we knew she didn't want to be weak and suffer and is in a better place but that doesn't make your pain any less.
