Donor Insementation

We have been talking back and forth, dh and i.  Has anyone that has had undetermined infertility tried a di?  Its a question were going to ask the new doctor next month.  Has anyone used a family DI?

    Most of the people on this board that may need donor sperm (DS) have a diagnosis of azoospermia.  Not many poeple with unexplained will use DS because IUIs may be successful or even IVF can work without needing ICSI.  I don't think your doctor will advise to use DS since it is an extra cost that you probably don't need.

    There are a couple of board members who will use a known donor but most use an annonymous donor.  Its good that you are looking at all options but I don't think you are going to need DS.

    We are using DS, but it is because DH has no motile sperm after post wash. 

    I have heard of people that when faced with the thought of IVF would rather try DS because of the cost.  But it definitely isn't something I would do before I would do IUI's with DH's.

    Using a known Donor is hard because of the cost of testing and the 6 month wait to use their sperm.

    Thanks for the info :-). We have had three iui's so we have had no info at all of ivf from our current doctor, like whats involved, cost, etc. So that will prob be our main question on the 3rd, that is the next step i guess
