38 week appt today- no more progress- frustrated!

Ive been 1 cm since 36 weeks and the baby is "still really high and cervix is really thick". I was really hoping to go early with this one. I have a feeling he might come on Christmas which would be whatever except that my OB is out of town and he would have a Christmas birthday.

I keep having contractions and lots of pressure but its not doing anything!

Anyone have this and then go into labor quickly after?

Thanks for letting me vent!

    Funny you write this because I posted a similar comment yesterday. I had my Dr. appt and I've been 75% effaced and 1cm dialated for several weeks now. It is very disappointing. The ladies gave me some encouragement though, so maybe check out my post too. It was called 'Vent: No Progress'.

    I know exactly how you feel. At 35 weeks I was 2cm dilated, 36 weeks 3cm dilated then at my 37 week appointment they didn't even check me - so I've been anxiously wondering if I've progressed any further. All I know is the last few days I've been getting contractions, woke up to some last night in my back and feeling totally nauseous and ready to have this baby. We're almost there - hold tight.

    No help here but I was 1cm at 35 weeks, 3cm at 37 weeks, and now 4cm and 80%. No sign that labor is impending but I guess it could happen at any time.

    I'm sorry you are so frustrated, ladies.  I have no idea what my progress is and don't plan on knowing until my 40w appt. 

    I am such an impatient person I thought I would end up wanting to know, but I guess those feelings are currently getting superceded by the thought of anything up my vag right now.

    This is exactly why I'm avoiding internals this time. I don't want to deal with the disappointment. I will say that I was 1cm even at my appt 2 days before delivering DD.
