think i might be done bfing...

i'm down to nursing ds twice a day and after tonight, i'm really tempted to be done all together.  

i'm kinda sad about it, but tonight he bit the crap out of me... TWICE.  not like him, and it REALLY hurt!!  i don't know what was up w/him, but as soon as he went in to nurse, he bit me.  so i tried to get him on the other one while i recovered from his bite.  he flat out refused my other side and only wanted the one he bit.  so i caved and told him that if he bit me again we were done.  and that booger bit me again!!!  

so i put him to bed and he was pissed that he didn't get to nurse before bed but after a few minutes he went to bed as normal.  

 

is it horrible to just stop bfing at this point bc of this?  he's been very pinchy which i can't stand bc that hurts too, but i can't take the biting.  feeling guilty and not sure if i want to bf him in the morning or not.

    is he getting any teeth? Addy bites me all the time when she is teething. She took my finger and hauled off and bit it the other day! Like out of the blue! She is currently getting her eye teeth and is just chewing on EVERYTHING (including me it seems...). Just a thought.

    It was so hard for me to stop BF but I couldn't take the pain. I was about 20 weeks preg too which didn't help the pain. DD was biting and just being mean to them. One night I just didn't BF but just rocked like normal. She didn't even fuss and went right to bed. Every night after was the same. If you feel it's time don't feel guilty you've BF for a long time and you should be proud of yourself! I know I was even though I was sad to stop. So congrats mama.

    hmm he might be teething, i think he is getting the tooth next to the canine (not sure what its called)... he's bit me before but its never been as bad as this time. i think i've got a bruise! :-(

    When DD had bits I put her down and say all done.  I give her a least 15mins before I'm willing to nurse again.  Sometimes she doesn't even look for it again. However she doesn't bit often.

    well i gave him a 2nd chance this morning and no bites thankfully!  so i guess we're back on! i was pretty shocked at how full i was this morning since i hadn't felt like i was making much milk anymore.
