Had our follow up U/S for LO's kidney check

So we found out he still has both kidneys blocked. Not only that but it went from 4 ML's of fluid to 5. Not a huge increase but not what we were hoping obviously. The Dr is saying there is still a chance that they could clear up on their own but now he has to have an ultrasound after he is born so they can determine what is causing the blockage and how to fix it. He may need surgery. The good news is everything else looks good, AF looks plentiful and he is growing just fine. He's small, in the 43% but still within the range of normal. I just feel so bad for my little guy that he might have to have surgery when he's so little.

    Aww, best of luck to you!  I also just wanted to add that at my 20w scan, my LO measured in the 20th percentile, and 2 different Dr's at my practice have told us to not worry at all.  At my appointment yesterday we asked the 2nd Dr about it and she basically said that they only worry regarding the 5th and 95th percentiles, and start to "watch closely" at the 10th and 90th percentiles, and she said the 20th is nothing to worry about (especially since neither my husband nor I are big people).  So I would say you can at least cross the 43rd percentile worry off your list, I think that's super close to average!

    Thanks for the reassurance :^)  DH was  a little baby at 7 lbs 3 ounces, 18 inches long ( and he came a week late) so I think LO is just taking after him in that way.

    I'm sorry the results were not what you hoped, but it's good to hear that your little guy is looking great.  Sending T&P that the blockages clear up on their own.  Right Hug
