Isabella produces a lot of ear wax. According to the ped, it also seems to be particularly thick and sticky and tends to get impacted, which can lead to ear infections.
I found this product. The price seems reasonable, and it has pretty good reviews. Does this seem like a worthwhile purchase? I don't necessarily trust myself to diagnose an ear infection, but I think it could at least help me see if her ears are becoming impacted. Thoughts?
Re: Medical question (ears)
If her wax is impacted, you likely wouldn't be able to diagnose an ear infection anyway. But, I think this could be a very useful tool for knowing if her wax is getting impacted. Perhaps one of the biggest benefits I see is that if you frequently look in her ears, she will be comfortable with it and make having her ears checked at the doctor easier. Well, unless she's just afraid of the doctor, which usually is the case around 2-5 years old or so.
That said, I have ordered an otoscope off of amazon before, not this brand (which I think is probably better than the one I bought), and it was a piece o' cr@p. I'm not sure if I got a bad one or what but with each battery change I'd get one use, not ideal.
