Is A on prevacid? I'm pretty sure I remember you saying she is... How long was it before you saw improvement? DD has been on since Friday and I'm seeing no change. In fact- she is spitting up more and has had 3 projectiles in the last 2 days. And she is still super fussy and crying/screaming a lot. I feel like she is never happy
Re: Wife-
Hi! Yes she is on Prevacid...it took a good week to notice a major improvement. Give it another couple of days. Are you giving the solutab or a compounded liquid? I haven't heard too many success stories with the liquid... A gets the solutab. We started with 7.5mg twice/day. We just changed it up a bit and she's getting the full 15 in the morning and zantac in the evening. Her weight went up almost 2 lbs so we needed to change things a bit.
She is waking so if I don't get right back to you, I'll catch up later.
No, they don't desolve completely. However, you need to try to get the syringe as far back into her mouth as possible so she gets them. I also get all the little beads in the tip of the dropper, shoot it in, then give her the rest of the water from the dropper. This way she has a "chaser" and I get get what's left on her tongue and such in her. How much does she weigh? I wonder if the 7.5 is enough? NOt that I am a Dr or anything LOL
As for her spitting up still. The meds won't necessarily stop that. They only alleviate the pain which is caused from the acid. So, you may see that she's still going to spit up. It's the screaming you want to see stop.
Like I said though, give it a couple more days. Are you seeing a GI doc?
Ok, we were instructed by the pharmacist (the directions as well) to disolve it in a dropper with 2ml of water (when giving half of the pill). As for the dose, I would ask about that. Abigail is 10lbs and is on 15mg. When she was just 8.5lbs, she was taking 7.5 twice/day.
Are you breastfeeding? If formula, have you tried a different one?
This stinks, hah????
