Did you give yourself a cushion when you got home from the hospital?
I was a little surprised to see the book give instructions for cycling kids that were 0-2 weeks.
I will admit, I haven't finished the book yet and I'm still trying to wrap my head around the process, but I have friends that swear by BW, so I'm trying to understand.
If you BF'd was it harder to get your twins (or more) on a same-schedule? I'm wondering how this will go if I can't get the hang of tandem feeding.
Re: Baby Wise moms - when did you start?
I didn't BF but I started at about 6 weeks when the boys had their first month check ups.
I brought my feeding chart with me and my pedi noticed that my boys were getting 10-15 feeds a day. They were eating anywhere from 1-4ozs...He suggested putting them on some sort of "schedule" for our sanity.
So we did it, very loosely. We would try and feed them every 3 hours during the day and if they wanted food sooner, we would offer a paci first. If they insisted, we would give them food. It really was a very smooth transition. At night, we let them sleep as long as they wanted. They started STTN at 8 weeks and at 3 months started doing 10-12 hours.
But again, I never read the book.... we just did the 3 hour schedule.....

we started day 1 - considering the way the nurses feed the babies in the hospital is pretty much babywise... a 3- hour rotation. Early on there is very little awake/play time, so don't stress about that... babywise is always flexible- so there's no reason NOT to start right away.
we followed it with the twins and DS1 and all 3 started STTN at 8 weeks. DS1 was 4w early and still did great with it. The twins were 38weekers, so no preterm issues with them.
I EP'd for all of them early on - and it worked out fine. Even when i was nursing in the hospital with the twins it worked great - i tandem nursed then.
I have many friends who have nursed doing BW and it works excellent for them - don't let the crazies on websites tell you it's bad for nursing... it's actually great for nursing - some info about why is here: https://www.parentwisesolutions.com/babywise/common-myths/
From Day 1.... my girls were in the NICU so they came home on a 3 hour schedule and we were on one in the hospital anyway.
I BF and supplemented with formula.
Just make sure if you are BF that you don't get so stuck on the schedule that you don't build your supply- that's where it can get harmful. There may be days when you feed 8 times a day and it's great, and then for 3 days in a row, you are feeding 12 times a day. If I could tell that the girls were going through a growth spurt, if they nursed after like 1.5 hours, I would nurse them again at the 3 hour mark. You just have to play with it.
