Hiya, question about car seats. We are bringing it with us thru the airport, but didn't buy a seat for our daughter. We are hoping there will be an empty seat available, but if not, we would gate check the seat.
Do I need a cover for the carseat if it's being gate checked? Are they manhandled a lot, or is that mostly if they get checked in as baggage?
Any recommendations for a carseat cover?
Thanks.
Re: car seat on plane/gate check
They just throw the car seat and stroller under the plane with everything else. Advice for trying to get a seat for LO. I learned in order to put LO in a row with a car seat, it has to be a window seat. So I try to book a row that either is in the back and empty, or someone already has the aisle seat taken. That way if you book the window seat, not many people want to take the center seat between two people. You can always ask when you check in if there are any rows open where you can bring LO on the plane in her car seat. I did this when flying in October and luckily they had a whole open row in the back that I got to myself and DD slept in her carseat. It was awesome.
We are flying on Thursday and I keep checking the plane to see if our row is filling up. As it is right now, teh center seat is still open. Yay!
