Eco-Friendly Family

Dang. I am doing some emotional sewing.

I'm currently sewing head scarves and chemo caps for DH's best friend's mom (who was also our math teacher in high school). Her husband and my dad have worked together for 30 years and I have literally known her since birth. I feel like I'm sewing so much more carefully than with a normal project, but then again, I'm praying the whole time! haha

I hope I'm creating something that will make her feel beautiful!

  • Yes  I'm trying to remember what I read that involved some sort of sewing or knitting and praying...  argh!

  • I had a Hindu friend from India. She was a cook for a Transendental Meditation resort. Her food was some of the BEST I've ever eaten, and after much begging, she told me some recipes. When I tried to make them, they were AWFUL. She says that she prays as she cooks, and I think it comes through. Interestingly, she also uses prayers as measurements and timers. (for ex. there are so many syllables in a prayer, and she uses that many pinches of a spice)

  • Aww, she is so lucky to have someone to do that for her!
