Is Anyone taking anything for (maybe tmi)

constipation? My BM have been fewer and farther between lately and very hard and painful. I bought some natural senokot but have yet to take it. I have a doctors appt coming up but I'd like some input before then so I can "get things moving" so to speak. TIA!

When I get constipated it's because I'm not drinking enough water, I have to drink about 4 liters a day for things to move smoothly:). For the days when I'm backed up I take 2 or 3 Colace at night, drink a LOT of water with it, and the next day I'm usually back to normal.

My doc OK'd up to 3 100mg colace per day for constipation. I usually only need 2 though.

I am drinking TONS of water but it doesnt seem to be doing anything. I've never heard of colace, I wonder if its similar to senokot? I know I was given senokot after I gave birth to DS and I was bf'ing..

I take colace and try to drink a ton of water. I did milk of magnesia in the beginning and it did nothing but taste bad. Senokot can give you bad cramps-I'd avoid it if possible.

i took some senokot once but it took some time to kick in so take it soon if you need to other than that i eat activia everyday and sometimes fiber one bars that seems to help keep myself regular and yes LOTS of water. Havent tried coloce but it's safe.
