Has anyone ever washed the cushion covers for their microfiber couch in the washing machine? We have several dogs & cats and our beige couches (whose stupid idea was it to get BEIGE couches anyway??) have really gotten a layer of animal gunk built up on them over the last few years. Not stains, just....gunk. It is super-easy to spot treat stains on these couches (and they come right out) but it would just be impractical to spot treat the entire couch so I am thinking of trying to wash them. After consulting Dr. Google, it seems that others have had good luck doing this, so I am crossing my fingers it works. Actually, let's be honest - I am hoping it ruins the covers so we MUST get new couches. DH would kill me, but he would be hard pressed to argue with the need then.
