Phone consultation with CCRM

Has anyone gone to CCRM for their IF treatment? DH and I have an initial phone consult scheduled for early next month (as we live out of state). We're going to try them given our failure to conceive after 1 year of IF treatment combined with the news that we're both CF carriers so need PGD to try to screen for the healthiest possible embryos.

 

Has anyone been to CCRM? Any advice on what questions to ask during the initial phone consultation? Any advice on going to CCRM generally?

    I haven't been yet but we are scheduled to see them  on Feb 4th. We are seeing Dr. Surrey. I first read about Dr. Schoolcraft in a magazine and became a little obsessed with him. Then before I even made the appt, I found out a friend of mine from work got KU'd on their first IVF after 8 failed IUI's at another clinic. They felt like there were tests done and solutions analyzed that the other clinic hadn't even thought of. So I'm "excited"... odd choice of words, but forgive me I've had some wine tonight... and interested in what will come from our first appointment in 7 weeks.

    Thanks for the info ladies! I will definitely check out the IF board.

     

    and Lucy -- good luck with your appt with Dr. Surrey! I have mine with him too. My first appointment is a phone consult bc we are out of state. But I agree - I'm very excited to go to CCRM! I feel a renewed sense of hope that maybe this change in RE's (And working with experts) will at the very least ID why we're not getting preg and at best work for us!

    I go to the other big RE clinic in town, so all I can add to this is that I know (one of?) their embroyologist(s) personally and he's a great guy.  That's all I've got. :)

    That's very good to hear! DH and I are both CF carriers (and I'm of the ripe "old" age of 35) so we definitely need a good embryologist!
