I would tell him stories how my mom fought over my cabbage patch doll back in the 80's and there were just a whole bunch of people grabbing for it.
And so over a year ago, DH said that he would like to do that one day for Emmy. Well, he didn't fight anyone this weekend, but we ordered the Tangled Tower from Walmart over 3 weeks ago and it's still not in!!! They can't find where it is and over the weekend, amazon.com was sold out of it. So DH went to ToysRUs at midnight to find one. He said it was still in the shipping crate and there was only one left and so he grabbed it and was very proud of himself. Now if we can just find it on sale somewhere because he paid full price plus tax on it!!! But in the end, we're so relieved because that's the ONLY thing she asked Santa for for Christmas.
Re: DH got to be "that" dad...
That's so funny!!! I'm very very glad you found one - what a relief!
Sarah's getting the Tangled Tower also. I saw it at Target before Thanksgiving and something told me to buy it immediately. It was the last one they had. Have you put yours together yet? I thought it was a little bit challenging. And it took me forever to figure out that there's a secret compartment on the side of Rapunzel's bed!
Are you getting any figures for it? I bought a Rapunzel doll from Target, but I saw the ones at the Disney Store and they are nicer. I ended up ordering the Flynn doll from Disney because I couldn't find him in the stores.
We're not sure if we're going to assemble it or wrap the box because we have a separate wrapping paper that only Santa uses. but then I just bought a Santa bag that we can use too if it was assemble.
Walmart actually had a bundle pack for the dolls that included Rapunzel, Maximus and Flynn. It was like $20. So we got that for her too.
The tower had a lot of good reviews and they said the quality was good. Do you agree?
The bundle pack is a great deal! I bought everything separately - gah!
It's hard to tell about the quality since she's not played with it yet, but there are parts of the tower that seem a little fragile. Also, the base was hard to snap on. There are three levels and they each close and lock. The top seems the most flimsy to me. The bed is too long to really fit inside when you close it up also. I'm sure she'll love it though because it's very charming and whimsical.
