VBAC

Great...he's breech...

Went for my 36 week ultrasound to check size, and he's breech!  Are you kidding me?????

So in every effort to give myself a shot at a VBAC, we have a version scheduled for the end of this week.  If that fails, then I will be going to an acupuncturist.  I will try just about anything to at least have a chance at a VBAC.

Anyone else with this experience?

Re: Great...he's breech...

  • DS was breech around then (can't say exactly sure which week).  I got him to turn with what I found at www.spinningbabies.com rather late in the game.  Also you can check out a chiropractor who is trained in the Webster Technique to make sure your pelvis is aligned.  I'm less familiar with what acupuncturists do.  Good luck!!  :)

  • i'm sorry to hear this.  I don't have any personal experience with breech, but I would suggest as pp mentioned, finding a chiro who is trained in the Webster technique.  Much less painful than a version from what I've heard.  My previous chiro had like a 100% success rate with that technique.  Luckily you still have a few weeks, turn baby, turn!

  • DS was breech. I'm so sorry you have this stress. I didn't have luck getting DS to turn but I had to deliver him at 37 weeks because of HELLP. I still have hope he would have turned if he had been given time.

I know what you're going through. My own personal view is that babies will turn when they are ready. But that's because I did everything under the sun from swimming to acupuncture to lying inverted to playing music and light and none of it worked. That doesn't mean it won't work for you. Just have faith your baby will turn. I've heard good things about the Webster technique, which was the one thing I didn't try. Good luck with the version. I hope you don't need it.

  • Thank you ladies! I will definitely be looking into the Webster Technique for sure.  At this point, i'm willing to try almost anything.  I at least want to know that I tried before heading in for a c-section....yuck....

  • I have a friend who turned her baby using a big block of ice.  She put it where the baby's head was and when he started to move away, she followed his head until it was all the way down.

I think pps gave you great advice on things to try.  Good luck!

  • I am in the exact same position as you are! We tried moxibustion sticks and they didn't work. I am so disappointed. I am going to try some of the techniques on spinningbabies.com & maybe the webster technique at a chiro. If all else fails I will schedule a version also. Good luck to you! I hope your baby turns!

  • definitely look at spinning babies. I've only heard the ice/heat thing for posterior, but maybe it would work for this.....

I have also heard ice/heat for turning breech babies. I tried it too.

  • We tried everything except the accu/chiro because they wanted like $100 per Tx that isn't covered by insurance and said it takes about 5 treatments Indifferent

We did a version and it didn't work (and hurt like a motherflucker!) and took all day.

DD was Frank, noticed @ 32 wks and never moved, I could feel her head always in the same position.

GL!!!! My OB said that if DD had been my 2nd/3rd Vag delivery they would have let me try to deliver her naturally, but not in a 1st birth.
