A sling or something for the shower

I had DD in her bath tub yesterday while I showered but she kept trying to climb out. She wasn't happy until I picked her up and held her to me under the spray of the shower. Does something like that even exist where I could get both of us washed and she'd have her skin to skin contact that she loves?

Re: A sling or something for the shower

  • Well, they have water slings & wraps, but I don't know how easy it would be to wash her in one.

  • I childproofed the bathroom (removed things she couldn't have) and just bring some toys in and shut the door. She plays on the floor while I shower. I've brought her in with me but it was too hard to actually wash/not get soap in her eyes/rinse my hair etc with her.

    This!

Although I've read some positive reviews on this sling https://www.nurturedfamily.com/taylormade-water-mesh-baby-sling.aspx?Froogle

(negative reviews say it stretches out and needs to be adjusted when its wet)

  • i always just had DS sitting on the bottom of the tub with tub toys.  when he got older, i would let the tub fill up with a smidgeon of water and let him splash.  WHen he was itty bitty, i would have him in his bouncer just outside the shower.  when i was done with my shower, i would pick him up and let him get sprayed by the water.  he loved it.
  • I only have a stall shower with two floor ledges in it so no way to keep her from falling out and cracking her head. I'll keep with the baby tub method and shower quickly. Then I can stand with her afterwards under the spray.
  • Look for a "solarveil" or "solarweave" ring sling - they're meant to go in the water and I've never had any problem with them stretching.
