fetal doppler - reviews for angelsound?

Need your help ladies!! I was doing my homework about a fetal doppler and had my heart set on the Sonoline B that so many of you raved about...I came upon some of the christmas presents my hubby had stashed and see he got the angelsound one instead...Any experience with this one? Any opinions would help! Thanks!

  • Don't know about the reviews, but good job on a gift, DH!

  • I got it earlier last week.  We've only tried it once...I had a hard time deciding if it was my heart beat or the babies...either way I think its excellent for the price.  We are going to try again maybe today or tomorrow.  Some of the ladies had some great suggestions on how to use it too-

  • I have been trying for a week to find the h/b with the angelsound and I have not found it. However, I am very very early so I don't blame the doppler at all. However, with my last pregnancy I had a wand doppler that I actually rented, and it was wonderful. The Angelsound is clearly not of that class, and I find it kind of awkward to hold. Lots of girls love it though!

I want to tell some friends tonight and I was just hoping to check on the little one before I outed myself. I am thinking my m/s is just going to have to be confirmation enough!

  • I got it last week, and by myself I was able to find a HB after a couple of minutes.  When I pulled it out for DF, he found two different heartbeats, and it is beyond my expectation that we could hear both hb's for twins with an Angelsound.  So, I'd say it was worth the $25 spent for sure.  I know there's better ones, but this does the job for peace of mind.  We're happy with it!  I like how easy it is to put on the computer to share with everyone.
  • I have one and I think it's a good deal. I've heard the heartbeat with it 3 times.

I suggest taking your own pulse before hand so you can tell the difference between your pulse and the baby's heartbeat.

Also I was told it should be done with an empty bladder and that you might not consistently hear it until 16 weeks. Also this early I've only been able to find it when I'm standing up and leaning over (with support).

The nurse midwife had a wand one, and she could barely even find my pulse.

I guess the more patient you are the better.

  • Nice present!  I got a "babysound" doppler for an early Christmas present.  It's working, but the sound quality is not great.  I read a lot of reviews for angelsound and most were positive.  Check Amazon for the full reviews.

I got one a few days ago and unfortunately, it either doesn't work or the battery doesn't. So I'm going to try to buy a new battery and if that doesn't work...oh well, I guess!
The battery that came with ours didn't work either!  Just go get a new 9v!!!
