Re: ...~*~...Green Beans Check-In December 19 - 25...~*~...
Not too much here. Went for a tour of our 'new' hospital that we'll be birthing at. It feels more like a hospital than the 'birthing center' that is at our old hospital, but still allows FP doctors to attend VBACs, so it's the better option for us. I'm having some mental blocks to being really excited about it, because they don't have wireless monitoring (which I will be stuck on for the most part as a VBACer, although I have gotten permission to be off about 15 - 20 minutes at a time for showering provided all is going well) and the more hospital atmosphere. We did, however, have a great nurse show us around who was really supportive of the VBAC, our doula and encouraged me to stay at home as long as I felt comfortable, so it was nice having someone who was in tune with our reasoning for the tour at least!
Not much else here. Baby is good, enjoying the white chocolate & peppermint candy that a coworker brought in (hey - it's Christmas week, I can eat whatever horrible food is brought, right?).
Um, the "waddle" set in this weekend. DH noticed on Friday while grocery shopping. I'm upset. I had a terrible weekend as it was, followed by a terrible Monday, and now I'm waddling like a giant, overstuffed duck and can barely keep up with DS!
Other than that, nothing new.
i still generally feel like crap. sinus problems out the wazoo, still having nausea too. at least i'm not in a lot of physical discomfort, and the baby moves a lot which makes me happy.
i was rocking Noah last night b/c he's sick and just wanted some cuddles...he was almost passed out, then the baby kicked the bejeesus out of me and since he was laying on my belly, him. he gave a big sigh, patted my belly, and got into his bed. it was cute but i was sad that our snuggle time was cut short.
I'm definately nesting! TMI ALERT: My plug is gone, or at least a good portion of it. Sometimes I think my braxton-hicks are developing a pattern, but it never lasts long. I'm really ready to be done, but I'm hoping this baby will stay put until 37 weeks and not come on Christmas day.
We were supposed to have a home visit with our midwife this week. She gave birth on the 10th, so I offered to go to her. So, she won't be coming until 37 weeks. I wouldn't be suprised if we don't get a home visit. At least we've done this before, and I know we have everything in order.
We're switching because I have a family practice doctor this pregnancy (felt it'd be better if I had a supportive FP doctor rather than OB, since I'm much more likely to get my FP doctor than an OB on the actual day) and the hospital I had DS at very recently changed their policy to state that FP doctors cannot oversee L&D of a VBAC. My provider is the one thing I thought I could control, so I'm going to the hospital where she can still be my primary for L&D.
danann - I got called on the waddle the other day! Fun times!
Joes - Yay for snuggle time - wish you were feeling better!
LOL How right you are - but, despite all the ups and downs, it is a FABULOUS ride.
