I went to pump at 3:45 and realized that the 7 ozs that I had pumped at 11:45 has been sitting at room temperature for the last 4 hours. I put in it my cooler bag, but I somehow managed to forget to put the ice packs in it.

Should it be okay or should I toss it? WWYD?

keep it! bm is good for several hours @ room temp- like 5-7 i believe.

I'm pretty sure it's good for 6 or 7 hours unrefrigerated

It's good for 6-7 hours room temp I am pretty sure. I think the only thing you can't do is leave it out after it's cold and then chill it again.

The nurses at the hospital told me the rule of 5... 5 hours at room temp, 5 days in the fridge, and 5 months in the freezer... I guess it is good 6-7 at room temp (according to PPs) but this is what I was told

Kellymom says 4-6 hours at 'warm' room temp (79 degrees) and 10 hours at room temp (72 degrees). I don't know if I trust the 10 hours, but I'll leave a bottle out for 5 or 6 hours, and Peanut seems fine We also keep our house pretty warm, about 78 degrees.
