Using light brown sugar might make it slightly less sweet, but you probably won't notice a difference. If you're super worried, add a teaspoon of molasses.
The only thing we do with pork tenderloin is toss it in the crock pot with a bottle or two of bbq sauce and a jar of salsa, and cook on low for 7 hours. You need to do it when you're out of the house, though, or the delicious smell will torture you all day.
I just made one yesterday actually b/c I LOVE pork tenderloin. I always just put it in a crock pot with 1-2 jars of salsa and cook on low for 6-8 hours. It gets so tender that you can only shred it. Then we use the salsa sauce as a gravy. Or you can cook it in a roasting pan in the oven on about 350 for a couple of hours.
