If you do stocking stuffers that is....
I was complaining to a co-worker how stocking stuffers is just going to end up being a bunch of crap from the dollar store that clutters up our house, or candy that will get her wired, etc. He then suggested getting DD things she needs like a toothbrush (she loves her Dora one, for instance), socks or whatever. Of course handmade stuff would work too, but at this stage in my pregnancy that doesn't look very likely.
So what sorts of things do you put in your LO's stocking? I need some EF ideas....alternatively we might skip stockings altogether this year as she won't really care until next year. Thanks!
Re: Re: What do you put in LO's stocking
S is getting: Socks, undies, toothbrush, EF chapstick, Piggy Paint, hair clips, a coloring book, stickers, & a few pieces of candy.
L is getting: Socks, bibs, next stage nipples for her bottles & some Camilia for when she starts teething.
DD's stocking this year:
ring sling for her baby dolls https://www.etsy.com/transaction/37759485
cloth diapers for her dolls https://www.etsy.com/transaction/38093239
bathtub crayons https://www.etsy.com/listing/61627201/4-handmade-crayon-soap-sticks-vegan?ref=sr_list_8&ga_search_query=bath+crayons&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=&includes%5B0%5D=tags&includes%5B1%5D=title&filter%5B0%5D=handmade
stickers, washable crayons & markers, watercolors/paint brushes, socks, play-doh, a few snacks (annie's fruit snacks, fruit leather, annie's cheddar bunnies)
I like the more practical/useful items with just a couple goodies - like some crackers, or small toys in there. C is getting snack cups in her stocking (that's actually the only thing I bought her - I figure she doesn't need a lot and the family has sent a few things for her to unwrap).
Here's a site someone else posted about stockings stuffers by age.
Last year (when DS was 3 months old), he got a board book (Guess How Much I Love you), a toy keychain (that he STILL plays with), a toothbrush (even though he didn't use it for another 9 months), a BPA free teether, Baby Einstein movie and a Baby Einstein CD. I *think* that's it.
This year, he's getting 2 packs of jumbo crayons (they were BOGO free), a "My First Coloring Book" made (by me) out of scrap paper, a 5" firetruck from Chuck the Talking Truck & Friends, a bottle of bubbles (for his favorite bathtoy), a board book (Oh the Things You Can Think), a straw sippy cup (we needed a couple more anyway, so I bought a 2 pack and one is for the stocking), a belt (on the clearance rack for 99 cents!), a winter hat (that he's already been using because it's so freakin' cold here) and a matching pair of mittens. Think that's it...
DH is getting a CD, a drawstring bag to keep his frisbees in (for disc golf), a set that includes a leather card holder/collar stays/money clip, some candy, and a snow scraper brush. Pretty sure that's all. I decided not to do deoderant, body wash, etc this year since that's not much of a real gift... and our budgets for each other are relatively small.
DS is getting: stainless steel water bottle, Woody and Buzz beanbag dolls (totally not EF), fruit leather, socks, Toy Story card games, toothbrush, flashlight, activity book
DD is getting: stainless steel water bottle, piggy paint and piggy paint remover, purse I bought from Etsy, fruit leather, barettes, panties, toothbrush, flashlight, activity book
