Baby Names

Help with Holly Elizabeth or Lacey Elizabeth??

Hi There..

This is my first post...I have a C-section scheduled for tomorrow and still can't make a decision on a name for our little girl. I was hoping to get a few opinions please. I was set on Lacey Elizabeth for the longest time until I saw a few comments about it being "cheap" or a "stripper name." That really worries me! Holly Elizabeth was a close second since her birthdate will be so close to Christmas. I always thought Holly was a sweet and pretty name too. Please help!..any comments or advice would be apprciated. Thanks so much!

Re: Help with Holly Elizabeth or Lacey Elizabeth??

  • I like Lacey but my name is Holly and I really like my name so that is my vote!  GL with your section tomorrow.

  • I prefer Holly to Lacey. While I know Laceys who are young and definitely not strippers, I don't think it's a good name on an adult. Holly is more sophisticated, I guess.

  • Have always loved the name Holly! If my husband didn't have a close friend with that name, I would want it! =) Lacey is very cute too, but would have to agree that Holly ages better.
  • I think Holly is very nice. I don't like Lacey at all for the reasons you stated.

  • Well I may be biased but I like Holly Elizabeth, that's my name. I love that she will be born in Dec as well. Fits perfect for teh season! I also never had a lot of Holly's in my class and I still like my name to this day. Thanks to all the ladies who said nice things about it too! ;-)
  • Holly is such a pretty name!  And it goes great with Elizabeth. :-)  Good luck tomorrow and let us know what name you decide to go with!

  • Not a fan of Lacey. It's too NNish. Holly would be my vote by default.

I'm hopping on this bandwagon. Plus it is cute that she would be born in December and named Holly.

  • I have a bad association with a Lacey, but even if I didn't I'd still like Holly better. I think it's just more sophisticated.

  • I like Holly about 100000x more than Lacey. Lacey definitely is a stripper name in my mind (sorry).

  • I prefer Holly to Lacey.

However I don't think Lacey is cheap or trashy (or a stripper name).  I know two adult Laceys, one is a bit of a trainwreck, but the other is very nice and has a good head on her shoulders.

  • I know this is very, very late to say the least but I wanted to thank everyone who posted about my name dilemma. I was just now able to find my old post. I posted the night before I went in for my C-section. I ended up naming my daughter Holly Elizabeth and and so happy that I did. I just wanted to thank everyone for their help!Smile
