NBR-EWW-Staph Infection

My office manager has a staph infection on the bottom half of her face/lips from botched lip injections. My boss doesn't think she needs to go home. Her office is right beside mine and we share a kitchen and bathroom. UGh. I think I NEED to go home then.

Re: NBR-EWW-Staph Infection

  • It matters on if the sores are open or not.  My niece just had a staph infection along with 4 other rowing crew members.  They think they got them from mosquito bites...anyways.  The doctors treated them with anti-biotic and an ointment of some kind.  And kept them covered. They monitored them closely to make sure they were healing fine and not opening...they all recovered.  I was around her when I was pregnant...even was looking at them (she is at college an hour away for me, I am the closest as everyone else lives 4 to 5 hours away, so I get to play 'mommy-auntie' sometimes). I never worried about it because they were closed and being monitored so closely by the doctor.

I do have to say that it looks hella nasty!!!

  • Its all over her bottom lip and chin. It was open all last week (before they knew what it was). Now it is all scabbed but she's left it open and does not have any bandages on it (nor did she last week). I asked her if she was contagious or anything and she goes-oh well yes probably, but I'm not touching it so I'll be fine (no concern for me or fellow co-workers) as she hands me a bunch of urgent files to review. Ugh. the hand sanitizer has been abused today.
  • omg. that is disgusting...

ask your doctor any other precautions you could take to prevent it from spreading to you...

that is nasty. some people are so inconsiderate of others. and i wouldn't be caught dead seen out like that! ICK!
