Upstate NY Babies

have you ever broke down in front of your LO?

I totally did this morning and I feel horrible for doing so.

The last few days with Bella and Joe have been challenging (to say the least) and DH has been gone on a 6 day trip and I am so ready for him to be home.  This morning I was trying to get Bells ready for church and she gave me a fight over getting dressed and in her tantrum woke up Joe who woke up screaming....both their tantrums escalated each others and it was just enough (combined with pregnancy emotions) to push me over the edge and I just started bawling.  I feel horrible because I think it frightened Bells which made me cry harder. What an ugly mess.

Re: have you ever broke down in front of your LO?

  • Yeah.. a couple weeks ago I got really upset over something totally dumb and just cried for like 15 minutes for basically no reason. Eve kept coming up to me saying "Mama crying! So sad!" I felt terrible.. but I still couldn't stop crying.

  • My DH was home watching DD so I could go to the Dr, I found out I had a m/c and came home bawling.  There have been other times but I can't remember specifics, except I know I cried a few times when DH was almost never home between last Jan - June and I had to watch a newborn and toddler all day on my own for like 6 months.  It was so awful and I know I had a couple breakdowns.  It happens!
  • Yep, since getting pregnant again and being so emotional, it's happened.  I tried to make it into a positive situation.  He'd watched a Sesame Street episode about the word comfort and would ask me what it meant a lot.  After I calmed down I explained to him what he was doing that got me so sad and told him it would be a good time to hug mommy and comfort me.  :)
  • Shannon, I'm sorry you had such a rough day.  I only have one LO to look after when DW is away and I sometimes get overwhelmed.  I have sooooo much respect for you raising your two kiddos, being pregnant, and working.  You are a rock star!  And to answer your question, yes, I have broken down and cried in front of JB.  At her age I'm not sure it matters as much.  She just sort of looked at me and then when on about her own life. :-p  Hang in there!

  • Aww Shannon so sorry! Yup I have done it too! Last week I was in a car accident (nothing crazy bad, but still scared the crap out of me and banged up my car pretty good!) on my way to work. DH and T came to get me and I was hysterical still. I felt so bad that I was crying in front of her. She looked at me and touched my eyes because she saw the tears! :(
