Toddler Friendly Meeting place in the Galleria/West U area?

Hi, I need some recs from the Houston board!  DH, DS and I are meeting his family in Houston for the day to exchange gifts. (they live in Baton Rouge).  We were planning to have lunch in Meyerland at Escalante's (our favorite restaurant from when we lived in Houston!), but need a kid friendly place that we can go that morning.  DS is just over 2 years old.  Is there any kind of coffee bar or breakfast place with a good playground attached or any other kid friendly place a toddler could run around in either the Galleria, West U or Meyerland area?  DH originally suggested meeting at the Galleria, but I do not want to brave the mall two days before Christmas!

TIA!

  • The play area at the Galleria is fun.  We were there Friday and it wasn't crazy at all (the play area).  It is right in front of Border's. If you get there early, it might not be too crazy to find parking.

  • May seem silly, but you could always bring a picnic or a purchased breakfast from La Madeleine, Chikfila, or any close by  eatery to one of the many West U parks for kids.  There are always benches for the adults to eat/open presents and lots of room for the little one to run around since the weather is supposed to be so nice this week.   I really like Colonial Park and Whitt Johnson.  https://www.westu.org/default.asp?menuid=10395&sub1menuid=12615&sub2menuid=12548
