Flying with LO for the first time any advice?

We are flying to Florida for xmas!  Any advice would be helpfull!  TIA

Re: Flying with LO for the first time any advice?

  • Bring lots of snacks (if your LO eats them) and toys. Keep changing out the toys to keep LO's interest. And don't stress, it isn't as bad as it seems. GL!

  • I flew alone with LO at the end of November. 4 flights total.

I fed her a bottle or used her soother for up/down. She slept almost the entire flight. No crying at all.

TSA was good with us. We didn't have to go through the body scanner (just regular scanner) and they were great with LO. They actually helped me put everything through the scanner.

  • We flew to FL at Thanksgiving, and I was super nervous, but it couldn't have gone better.  Here are my tips:

    1. Know the individual airline and TSA rules for traveling with a baby like the back of your hand-I did tons of research and it helped knowing exactly what/how much I could carry on the flight, how things would be handled at security, what could be gate checked, etc.

    2. Ditto to PP on the bottle/paci for takeoff and landing

    3. Toys-Depending on the kid this could go either way.  I brought several toys/books but in the end DD was so thrilled to be held for 3 straight hours I never even took them out

    Good luck!
