Just found out my SIL is pregnant

DH & I went to dinner tonight with my parents, my brother & SIL. It was to celebrate my brother graduating from the police academy. As soon as we sat down my brother grabbed his napkin, wrote "D is pregnant" and handed it to me. He told me later that he wanted to make sure I knew just in case it came up & that he didn't want it to upset me if I heard it out loud. I just nodded & handed it back (at the time I wasn't sure if I was "suppose" to know yet).
I'm very happy for them, but very sad for me. We've been TTC for 20-months now & have had 2 losses. She just stopped taking the pill 3 months ago. I'm actually sort of surprised that they said anything because I'm guessing she's only about 5-wks along (I didn't ask) & she had an early loss about 5-yrs ago. We congratulated them when my mom asked if they were going to tell us (as we were leaving the restaurant). DH joked that maybe D will have twins & we can just take one of hers.
When we got in the car DH hugged me & asked how long I had known. I told him about her early loss & that I had just found out. He said "don't worry, our time will come soon" & then we started talking about making a consultation appointment with our RE regarding the 2 m/c & what we should be doing next.
No real point to any of this, I just needed to get it out there. I feel a little better now

In the same boat, :-(. We were told beforethanksgiving but they were coming out at thanksgiving and telling everyone. so we didnt attend thanksgiving dinner. i hope you have better luck, it increased my depression so much and i cried every single time i though about it. In the meantime we have had a falling out, I had to bring it up to her somehow that I cant be around when they talk about the "whole pregnancy" thing....but she didnt take it too well. No one understands but us. I was told im being selfish. Lol id say im real far from selfish at this point. And again i am overly thrilled im having another neice/nephew, and ill be happy with the lil one is here, i just get real depresed and emotional with "pregnant" people. I think they started trying for 2 months. Good luck with every thing and i hope you dont have to go thru what i am right now. My family completely understands but DH bro and the SIL dont.
I'm so sorry! It doesn't get easier does it? I think with every announcement- certainly the next one won't sting as much... but it does
I just want it to be all of us IF'ers turns! GL with your consult. I hope it brings you lots of answers.
(for Thanksgiving I got a pg announcement from my baby sister. That'll make niece/nephew #18. sigh)
Dx -Ute cancer, DOR from cancer treatments, and embryo quality issues. NOV 2010 CANCER FREE
2005-2011= 3 Rounds of Clomid, 5 IUI's, 3 IVF's- ALL BFN's
After 7yrs TTC, 5yrs of ute cancer, and 11 failed IF treatments, we got a surprise BFP! So thankful!
