Snarky and T-TTC

At a crossroads

Do I keep doing what I'm doing (which is obviously not working)?

OR

Do I totally go super healthy, cut out caffeine, alcohol, etc. completely with hopes that it might work?

OR

Do I just say FUUCK IT and suck down lattes, drink like a fish, take up smoking, maybe even pick up a crack habit?

My intellect tells me I should be healthier, but my gut is going with the crack.

Re: At a crossroads

  • I tried the super healthy and it didn't work. I say go for the crack!

  • While I agree the crack route is tempting, I think you should probably stick with being healthy.  I do however think you can still go with some caffeine and booze.  You need to stay sane after all  :-)
Are you still going to see this RE from your ivf cycle?

  • I find myself at the same crossroads. I wish I had the magic answer. In the meantime, I'm drinking heavily.

  • What is it that you're currently doing?  A mix of healthy and awful?  You seem to be pretty conscious of what you're taking in, right?

My vote is going for healthIER.  I would personally cut out caffeine and limit booze to maybe a glass of wine once or twice a week, if anything.  I kind of subscribe to this conservative approach now.

  • I might take the holidays to just eat and booze it up, and then go full boar healthy next year.

I do plan on having an appt with the IVF RE to get his insight and then figure it out from there. I would like to have a new job ASAP, so I can take 6 months to get healthy and then be good to go with a new treatment cycle.

  • Dip ... I have a name of a new RE.  You know I was seeing the same that you have been with for your IVF.  I haven't done treatments with anyone, but I can get you the info on the new one.  I have yet to have a consult (I'm too busy right now with work to take the time off), but he's supposedly has equally as high if not higher results and cheaper prices.

  • In my experience, healthier made me feel better in general, so I kept at it for the most part, just for the overall benefits.
  • I really don't think I good crack binge needs to last longer than a couple months.  So do one than the other.
  • I think you should have fun during the holidays and go healthy in the new year.

Hey Kali, Thanks for that but I think we are very happy with Dr Werlin. I don't think my BFN was anything he could have controlled.
  • I also vote that you should have fun during the holidays then work on being healthy in the new year.

Save the crack for special occasions.

  • I'm trying to go the healthier route during the holidays (although allowing myself all the booze I want) and will try to step it up once they are over.

  • Although the crack does sound appealling.....it will use all of the cash you earn and then you may start to sell things around your house!!!!
