Is anyone's nausea only AFTER you eat?

Does anyone else only experience it once you've eaten? I always want to chow down, have no food aversions, but once I eat, that's when the m/s comes on. Never before. I know it is different for everyone, I almost wish I was having some food aversion, because I am eating like a horse!

Re: Is anyone's nausea only AFTER you eat?

  • I can relate. I have it after I eat also. And I have to eat more for it to go away. And I'm not completly sure it's actual m/s. Just the past couple of days I've started getting a little nauseous after I eat. Not too much though, and I haven't had anything before then. It's not too bad, so I'm hoping that's all that I get. It's still really early for me, so we'll see.

  • I've had it happen a few times after I ate too much. Even if you don't have food aversions you should probably still try to eat smaller meals. Try it and see if it helps.

  • Same here!  Actually, the only time I have thrown up is right after eating a hot dog that I had wanted and that tasted just fine going down.  I have also found the larger the meal I eat, the worse my nausea is after the meal.

  • I've been having nausea after I eat, too. I have it other times as well - first thing in the morning and sporadically throughout the day (like today when I was standing in line at the grocery store and immediately needed a Sprite - I don't know what I'd do without the stuff). But depending on what I eat, I feel gross afterwards. I didn't think about it being due to eating too much as a PP suggested, though. I might have to take that into consideration.

  • I doubt it is morning sickness because I'm still so early into pregnancy, but yesterday and today my stomach has started feeling icky when it's empty -- I feel fine after I eat something, so I guess it is the opposite of what you're going through!

  • Smaller, frequent meals is the best way for me right now. If I eat a lot, I feel really sick!
  • This is me. I feel worse after I eat. It hasn't been too bad lately but earlier this week I dreaded that feeling after I ate.
  • Yep! I have the same thing. Part of me wants to start eating smaller portions more often to see if that helps.

  • I've been getting this a lot.  I feel totally fine while I'm eating, but after I'm finished I feel gross.  It's not a portion thing, because I haven't been eating a ton, and I still feel that way after a snack.
  • My stomach is very queasy after I eat.  I usually have an upset stomach for a good hour to hour and a half after each meal.  It's really the strangest thing. It's almost like I feel like eating something else just to ease the upset stomach.
  • It's always good to hear you aren't alone!

And thanks tink, I think I will make sure my meals are smaller. They usually aren't big, but my schedule has been weird with Christmas work parties and random stuff.

  • Same for me. I will have a queasy feeling at only the top part of my stomach after I eat. It's not enough to make me throw up but it's just not comfy either lol.
  • No nausea for me yet.

Me either. But I just got my Rx filled for prenatals (have been taking the gummi ones and I'm almost out), and it said to chew them - absolutely disgusting. I thought, "oh man, I can't even stomach this NOW, let alone if I start feeling naseous!"

  • Mine's the opposite actually. The only thing that seems to help the nausea is eating. Or at least that's how it seems! With my last pregnancy I really only got nauseated at night, which was strange.
  • If i eat a huge meal (which I find myself doing b/c I'm so hungry), I feel sick - sometimes nausea, sometimes burpy/gassy.  I never used to feel that way unless it was a monster meal - now even a normal larger meal gets me feeling ill.
