where to buy nursery furniture?

any store recommendations? we've looked at BRU and BBB, and are hesitant to order online without actually seeing the item first.

most of the furniture stores around me don't have nursery furniture. any suggestions?

(we live in western suburbs, but going into the city isn't a problem either)

We have been happy with Pottery Barn Kids, but have also purchased items from Beautiful Beginnings.

We got our stuff at Ikea. You can't beat the prices and the ratings are very good.

I price checked all over (Lazars, BRU, BBB, Deb n Heir, Beautiful Beginnings, LON & PBK, plus websites like Diapers.com and Albeebaby.com) and highly recommend Cribs to College in Naperville. We're in the city, so it was a pain for us to go all the way out there, but it was worth it. They had the largest selection, and when we decided what we wanted, their prices were far lower than Lazars and Beautiful Beginnings. Plus they always have some kind of deal going on every month. I got shipping for $35. The delivery guys were great, and very prompt. HTH!

Second the Cribs to College in Npaerville. We made the trek from the city too. Nice, no commission, even had to deliver twice and they were great about it. Lots of options; the entire upstairs is infant furniture.

I recommend BBB in Downers Grove...we chose a style by Bonavita, and it was MUCH cheaper than Lazars and Beautiful Beginnings, especially since you can sign up for their 20% off coupons online and use them on furniture! (I did lots of price comparisons before we bought).

Not to mention, everyone there was really pleasant to work with, and my furniture all arrived 6 weeks earlier than expected!
