So my DH really likes Zander and I;m on the fence. I'm just kind of afraid of it being too cool (if you know what I mean?) We are having such a hard time finding a name for a boy because of my giant 23 cousin family! So what do you think?

Zander is bad. Something about the Z makes it really harsh.
I like Xander, but only has a nickname for Alexander.
This... spelled correctly, it's a lot cooler of a name.

Definitely do not like the Zander spelling and not really loving it as Xander either.
If you're afraid it's "too cool" why not name him Alexander and just use it as a nickname?
I do prefer the spelling Xander, BUT I've heard of the name Zender before.
Maybe that's an option?
this
Hmmm... it's not ranked on SSA's database in the top 1000 names until beginning in 1999... though I'm pretty sure my mom was considering naming my little brother Xander until my dad nixed it... that was in the mid 80s. But we all have "unpopular" names, so that wouldn't necessarily be a shock to me.

Did you quote the wrong person? Your response is non sequitur.
I love the name Xander, but yes, if you want him to have options use Alexander (which I also like) and just call him Xander.
I don't think of it as TOO cool. It reminds me of the character from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and he was cool but slightly geeky.
i don't think it's cool at all.
I like 'Xander' as a nickname for 'Alexander...'
It does have the 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' connection for me, but only because I'm a nerd... And even then, Xander was my favorite character so it's all good. haha... (And his name was also short for 'Alexander.')
Momma Maven In The Making!
Haha me too Melissa I totally thought GH.
I like Alexander with the NN Xander/Zander but I don't hate it on its own.
