Undetermined Infertlity.

Hey Ladies--

Newer to the bump. After ready alot of profiles I'm not coming across many undetermined infertlity. My husband and I have great everything, but still cant conceive, is anyone else in our boat? And what have you tried.

I started off as unexplained. I actually think a lot of girls on the board start off as unexplained, but as time goes on, more and more tests happen or after more failed cycles we start to learn more about our bodies.

Most unexplained girls start off with clomid and timed intercourse. Then after that they usually move on to IUIs and injectibles.

I have been on clomid for a year, and no other tests have been done, we will be starting a new doctor jan 3 for a second opinion. We did have 2 IUI's done. Maybe we will find out more with this new doctor :-/

We're technically Unexplained. We started with Clomid and IUIs. Tried that 3 times and all = negatives for us. RE then suggested either trying IUIs plus injectibles or moving on to IVF. We choose to move on to IVF and found that we seem to have a fertilization issue.

We are most likely unexplained. Our RE is starting us with IUI + clomid. We have just started our first cycle, so we will see what happens.

DH and I are still unexplained. The only slight possibility is tubal factor, but that's never really been determined. GL to you.

We are in your boat! No answer. We've done Femara and timed intercourse for 3 months, Clomid and IUI for two and Clomid and timed for one...all with no luck. Talking to the doctor tomorrow about what to do this month.

I've been diagnosed unexplained. DH is fine. My tubes were clear and normal (one is now blocked according to my latest HSG in Sept)and all my b/w came back normal, I just don't get AF on my own and O. We did Clomid with the OB/GYN and then with the RE where I was finally monitored and we've moved onto Femara. We're going to finish out this cycle and if AF shows next week do one more cycle of Femara and then move onto injections.

We are unexplained as well. We have done 3 IUI's and moving on to IVF in January.

We have had a ton of tests done in the years we have been trying and still are considered unexplained infertility. The only way we have gotten pregnant has been ivf, but unfortunately no take home baby yet, only losses.

I am unexplained as well. I was on clomid for 6 months, then femara for another 4 months but nothing. DH's SA came back normal, my HSG came back normal, b/w did as well, but nothing. We've been on a "break" for the last couple months, and I tried Mayan abdominal massage this summer. After the new year we'll be moving forward again, most likely going through IUI and who knows what next. GL in your journey, I hope you find some answers soon.

we too are unexplained. we have done 3 iui, ivf, 3 fet and now another ivf. we are both perfectly healthy, fertile and no explained issues. sorry you are in the mystery boat, and know you are not alone. welcome to the board.

I am considered unexplained as well. Though I had a lap that showed stage 2 endo and DH sometimes has borderline low #'s - they say we are unexplained. Ive had 3 failed iuis (all with clomid) and I am moving to injectables later this week (we are OOP otherwise I might be considering IVF)

We are unexplained. DH is perfect and my eggs are great (even though I'm 36 and I had suspected it was an issue with ovarian reserve). THere is a chance I could have a tube issue but probably not (two doctors disagreed and even so I have one working tube) and there is an issue that some scarring at the opening of my cervix is making it difficult for the sprem to pass through (again the doctors disagree with each other). We haven't tried anything because it is hard for me to know what to try without knowing what the problem is. For example if I release an egg fine (which it seems I do) I don't want to take fertility meds, if the issue is the scarring of teh cervix in theory a simple IUI iwthout meds should work. If its a tubal issue, meds and IUI would be useless and IVF would be required. I jsut can't bring myself to start forking out money (and more importantly the toll it will take on my physically and mental well being) to try stuff that I have no idea if its going to target the problem (since I don't know what the problem is). I guess we are officially taking a break because in December we won't track ovulation or try TI or have any doctor's appointments or hopefully even talk about it! We got sooooooooooo burnt out with every move we made being about IF - and I say that understanind we have been through even a FRACTION of what most of the ladies on this board have been through!

IF sucks and for me being unexplained is even worse b/c I am the type of person who likes to know exactly what I'm up against so I can know my options and move forward. Keep in mind, 20% of the time, IF is unexplained.

Welcome to the site and to the nasty, emotional world of infertility. Pretty much in the same boat as you, but still have one more tests to go thorugh(post-coital). Everything else with us is fine, which I think at times makes it harder. It leaves hope but also, at least in my case, would like a diagnosis so we know how to treat it. We have not been on clomid or tried IUI but will be next month ater our final test.

I just got my period today and devastated once again because I had HSG last month. My dr. advised it may increase rates but of course it hasnt.
