I want to make oatmeal cookies but I don't have white sugar all I have is organic raw cane sugar. Can I use it instead? It's not as sweet as white so maybe if I add a little more brown sugar it will make it a tad sweeter? WDYT?
i stopped using white sugar in all my baked goods. they all turn out fantastic. as in, people all over the NYC tri-state area rave about them
I don't make adjustments for brown sugar usually, though if the recipe calls for exactly half white and half brown, I may use all cane sugar instead, depending on the recipe. sometimes you want more of the molasses flavor to come through.
